At Capgemini The Netherlands we’ve developed an agile software development platform that captures and combines a large number of practices into a high-speed high-quality software factory. This platform is called the
Accelerated Delivery Platform (ADP). It is targeted at increasing both productivity and quality of software development at Capgemini and its customers mainly in Java and .NET, but it will encapsulate more technology as we go along, such as SharePoint and business intelligence.
 Overview Accelerated Delivery Platform |
The Accelerated Delivery Platform includes an agile project lifecycle, pragmatic modeling guidelines, estimation techniques, dashboards, model driven techniques, frameworks, training and coaching.
EditSoftware development at less than 2 hours per function point
With these software development accelerators, Capgemini and other platform users are able to achieve high quality at extreme speed. A very good recent example was a project for one of the larger government agencies in the Netherlands, where Capgemini (and a number of competitors) delivered a proof of concept, a dual web and Windows application in .Net.
Delivering software at less than 2 hours per function point |
Even though the government agency expected the project to take 12 weeks, Capgemini actually delivered the project in merely 2 weeks using the Accelerated Delivery Platform. For comparison, most competitors did not deliver working applications at all in the planned 12 weeks. According to the agency the project reached a productivity of less than 2 hours per function point (all activities included).
