There is a strong growing interest in implementing one of more accelerators in the Accelerated Delivery Platform, from all over the world, within and outside of Capgemini. Within Capgemini ADP/ Agile is one of the key onshore accelerators the company will promote in 2009.

Getting ahead in agile

As the ADP Core Team has been involved in agile projects over the last ten years, we have bundled a vast amount of knowledge, techniques and tools in the accelerators of the Accelerated Delivery Platform. Our accelerators are ahead of most organizations that currently start implementing agile. The platform is an open-knowledge platform. That is, anybody is welcome to re-use our agile knowledge, and possibly extend it, and even the accompanying tools such as our online agile dashboard, code generators and frameworks are available on request.

A succesful ADP / Agile project

A succesful ADP / Agile project

This not only goes for projects within Capgemini, but also an increasing number of clients apply our accelerators, most of them currently in the Benelux region.

Adopting the agile Accelerated Delivery Platform

When a team team wants to adopt ADP / agile, our normal procedure (in short) would be:

  • Appoint a coach. Appoint a project coach, who could well be or become a member of the ADP Core Team, preferably someone with agile and Smart experience.
  • Coach the coach. Learn the coach how to conduct the trainings and workshops available for the platform accelerators, and how to apply ADP to projects and in proposals (!).
  • Train the team. Train the project teams for the first projects in our accelerators agile, Smart (our agile methodology), smart use cases, smart estimation, smart testing and perhaps in code generation and frameworks as well, depending on the project. The new coach can perform the training together with an experienced ADP Coach.
  • Run the project. Run the project(s). Using Smart or Scrum teams are encouraged to retrospect and evaluate at regular basis. The coach can continuously help improve the way the project(s) operate.
  • Contribute to wiki. Contribute to the ADP wiki, making your ADP / Agile knowledge and experience available to other members in the community.
  • Repeat and learn. Repeat this cycle in as many projects as possible.

Be welcome

We welcome new members on the ADP Core Team, also from outside Capgemini, who can play a leading ADP / Agile role in their region. We have a number of trainings and workshops available to get teams up to speed, as you can find on our wiki.
