The ADP boot camp workshop is an intense three day hands-on lab where participants are introduced into modeling in ADP projects using UML and Enterprise Architect, generating code and defining patterns and templates with Tobago MDA, and building applications using the generated code, the ADP architecture and the Accelerated Delivery Framework in Visual Studio .NET 2005.
This workshop is aimed at architects and developers that will be active in ADP projects shortly. Off course this course is taught by experienced ADP coaches, all active in the field. During the course a web application will be built over several lab exercises, and issues such as binding objects to forms, navigation, exception handling and data source management will fall into place.
Objectives
Students will get practical hands-on experience with the Accelerated Delivery Platform and its accelerators. Students will learn:
- Principles of agile software development
- Smart, its life cycle and practices
- Applying the ADP Agile Dashboard
- Identifying and modeling smart use cases in Enterprise Architect
- Modeling domain models in Enterprise Architect
- Software architecture and design patterns used in ADF
- Accelerated Delivery Framework (ADF) layers and classes hands-on
- Starting projects fast with Tobago MDA FireStarter
- Generating software using Tobago MDA
- Creating and extending templates for Tobago MDA
- Building (bake-off) ASP.Net applications in .Net using Visual Studio
Content
During this intense three days workshop the students will be thought all aspects of working in a ADP .Net project, ranging from Smart, modeling requirements and domain models, administrating the project in the ADP Agile Dashboard, and learning how to work with Enterprise Architect, Tobago MDA, ADF.

Students will gain lots of hands-on experience as all exercises are taken from the same case, a, online travel agency. Going through this work show and easy-to-learn case the way ADP projects operate is made thought really fast and fun.

Coaches, architects, lead developers and developers that will be active in ADP projects.
Prerequisites
It is practical though not mandatory when delegates have (some) knowledge on:
- Object orientation
- Design patterns
- Software architecture
- UML, more specific use cases and class diagrams
- Visual Studio.
As the training delivers hands-on experience in software development using the Accelerated Delivery Platform, students will need access to a software development environment, preferably containing:
- Windows (XP and up)
- Enterprise Architect (6.0 and up)
- Visual Studio (2008 or 2005)
- Resharper (not mandatory, 3.0 and up)
- Accelerated Delivery Framework (can be installed during training)
- Tobago MDA (can be installed during training)
- Tobago MDA FireStarter (can be installed during training)
- internet access.
